Session 11 - Leaving Springpointe

While fleeing the scene of the skirmish with some wererats, the party notices a fire burning in the town, and heads in that direction in hopes of being spotted to create an alibi.  They were the first few on the scene and townspeople had already cried for the guard to assist in putting out the fire.  A water bucket line formed to get water from the nearby fountain, and the party participated long enough to be seen, Mmar met up with them shortly after and the party decided to lay low for the night.

The next day, Theron obtains some helpful magic scrolls from his guild and regroups with the party.

The party chooses to leave town for Embermill to investigate the rumors of trouble in that region. The party travels north for half a day and the forest leads them into an ankheg den, cautiously attempting to traverse the delicate mosses and dirt of teh ankeg mounds, they are ambusshed by an Ankeg, and just as they strike it down, another appears behind them

Qunmfernuffle gets grabbed and panics, shooting magical rays and fireworks in all directions, slaying the Ankheg. In the magical confusion, a strange metal box creature with gangly metal arms and legs and what look like puffy angel wings is summoned and squwaks at the party in a metallic language no one seems to understand except Qumnfernuffle, who has grown noticably for some reason.

Theron attempts to attack the creature but its ability to fly keep him at a safe distance, where he returns fire with a few arrows produced from within his body. Theron backs off and the creature returns to squawking and inspecting the party. Roughly a minute later, the strange creature suddenly disappears.

The party travels further north a bit before making camp on a hill. Qumnfernuffle volunteers to watch first, while trying to figure out how to summon more metallic box shaped creatures, luckily nothing eventful happens during his watch. Godrin on the other hand spots a distant fire that has lit up the forest between them and their destination, but the fire is at least a day's travel away, so he decides there is little to be done before morning.
