Session 12 - A Hurried Pace

The party awakes in the morning to find the forest still on fire quite a distance to the north, and also finds Theron missing from the camp. Mmar smells a distinct animalistic scent nearby, and the party follows him to a clearing a few hundred feet from the camp - this clearing has been shredded and torn by something, and blood is spattered around the are with some dismembered animal parts.

Mmar chooses this time to share his origins with the party and his struggles with crossing into his barbarian tribe's manifestation of their powers. This clearing looks very similar to what he went through, and suspects a lycanthrope is in the area, or was. Godrin spots bloodied boot prints traveling to the north, and the party decides to follow them since they appear to be going in the direction they were traveling anyway.

A short time later, the tracks were lost when they led to another nondescript clearing but didn't seen to leave said clearing. The party traveled onward until they heard voices in the forest.  Sneaking up on the source of the noises, Godrin spots an ettin sitting in the forest arguing between its two heads.

Several hours later, they came upon a grove of large trees with a pond in the middle, next to which was planted a female-figured tree that seemed to speak in the elven tongue. Around the grove were three large trees and three rough wooden chests.

Godrin and Qumnfernuffle had a short dialogue with the tree, trying to warn of the fire to the north, but the tree wasn't aware of this fire they spoke of. The party offered to help it relocate but the tree was unable to move, and so the party moved on. Qumnfernuffle thought it best not to touch the chests after a quiet warning from the tree, and the rest of the party paid them no particular mind.

Moving on the party begins to see the glow of flames through the trees, and estimates they will reach the fire after only a few more hours of travel.  They press on as it gets dark.
